Sara Ali Khan and her wife Kareena Kapoor Khan were spotted on their way to the hospital earlier. Saif was hurt when an assailant broke into his house during a purported robbery attempt. Among the several stab wounds he received was a serious injury to his thoracic spine that necessitated surgery to remove knife shards. He had plastic surgery and neurosurgery, two crucial operations. As she left Lilavati Hospital, Kareena Kapoor was photographed. Saif is reportedly scheduled to leave the hospital shortly as well.

Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, a Bangladeshi national living in India without proper identification documents, is accused of attacking Saif. According to reports, Shahzad had changed his name to Vijay Das in order to hide his identity. The police claim that the accused has admitted to the crime. After being brought before a Bandra court on Sunday, he was placed in police custody for five days in order to be subjected to additional questioning.
