Delhi Election 2025:The Aam Aadmi Party’s lengthy rule comes to an end as the BJP wins a substantial victory in the 2025 Delhi assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal and other prominent AAP leaders lost their support. In a keenly watched contest, Kejriwal lost to Parvesh Verma of the BJP, while the Congress was unable to win any seats.

With a resounding two-thirds majority in the 2025 assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to win administration in Delhi for the first time in 27 years. With the BJP’s overwhelming win, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Arvind Kejriwal, has been out of power for more than ten years. This victory represents a major resurgence for the BJP, which last held power in Delhi from 1993 to 1998. Only 22 of the 70 assembly seats were won by the AAP, compared to 48 by the BJP. Kejriwal, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, former minister Satyendra Jain, and Saurabh Bharadwaj were among the notable AAP leaders that lost their constituencies in this resounding triumph.
Kejriwal lost the New Delhi assembly seat to Parvesh Verma of the BJP by a margin of 4,089 votes in a keenly watched election. Congress, meanwhile, received a score of zero since the party was unable to win any seats. These are the 2025 Delhi Assembly election victors and losers.
Modi :
Once more, he served as the BJP’s mascot, its main campaigner, and the man who had to make up for the absence of a strong leader in the local party unit. The fact that he led the BJP to a significant win indicates that he is still a powerful voter and an excellent source of inspiration for party members. He skillfully courted middle-class and lower-class demographics. The BJP’s accusation against the AAP chief was framed by his loud campaign speeches criticizing the AAP’s “corruption.” during the BJP’s victories in Haryana and Maharashtra, the Delhi triumph has essentially repaired Brand Modi, which had suffered some setbacks during the Lok Sabha elections.
Amit shah :
He can now cross that task off his “to-do” list. Since 2014, Delhi had eluded Modi’s BJP, and Shah had meticulously planned in 2015 and 2020. This time he accomplished it again, fixing the nuts and bolts and defining a larger approach. It was difficult to persuade the party cadre that Kejriwal could be defeated. He shifted the atmosphere with Modi’s sharp insult of the Aam Aadmi Party, calling it “AAP-da” (disaster). His choice to pit Pravesh Verma against Kejriwal was a brilliant move that was characteristic of the BJP’s number two.
Arvind Kejriwal :
A new type of politician that promises a new form of politics, humble, approachable, and brutally honest. When he first entered politics in 2013, that was his public persona. Right now? Apparently indifferent to the fact that the city he oversaw became synonymous with municipal mismanagement, hubristic is yet another leader who reportedly uses government funds for political purposes. Kejriwal’s ascent to notoriety and power was equally as stunning as his decline. It is made worse by the fact that he was unable to even RETAIN the seat that he has won three times since 2013.
Manish
Alongside Kejriwal, his star skyrocketed. However, he got a heads-up about difficulty during the most recent assembly polls. After almost making it in Patparganj in 2020, he moved to Jangpura this time. He appeared to be fleeing as a result. He has suffered a serious political setback as a result of the Jangpura defeat. Similar to Kejriwal, his accomplishments—he was allegedly the driving force behind the AAP’s reform of Delhi’s government schools—are now only a faint memory. Not a mass politician by himself, Kejriwal’s political future rests solely on his ability to bounce back from this setback.
Atishi :
After being rescued from obscurity by Kejriwal, the scholarly daughter rose to prominence in the AAP media and was later appointed as an advisor to Sisodia, the deputy chief minister at the time. When Kejriwal had to GIVE UP CMship after being imprisoned, she was the safe choice. Even many in the AAP didn’t take her seriously in her position. During her 135 days as CM, she was powerless to alter the AAP’s view of non-governance. Neither she nor her party feel particularly comforted by her victory following a significant scare during the counting process.
Rahul and Priyanka :
Since the Congress put on a strong performance in the Lok Sabha elections, nothing has worked for the Gandhis. Delhi has lost three elections since LS, and the Congress has failed in the city three times in 2025. Despite running campaigns in the capital, the brother and sister had little impact on the final outcome. Ironically, though, things are not all awful for the Gandhis. The fact that Congress may have lost AAP votes and that AAP was thoroughly defeated serves as both retaliation against Congress and a defense against criticism from other regional satraps. Gandhis and their party would have faced harsh criticism from the TMC, SP, and AAP if they had won.
