Thangalaan, Vikram’s action-adventure movie, is now available on OTT. Fans who have been anxiously awaiting the film and were unable to see it in theaters may now enjoy the captivating story from the comfort of their own homes.
Thangalaan available on this OTT :
Vikram’s Thangalaan quietly made its debut on OTT in its seventeenth week, and it is currently available for streaming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Normally, Tamil films are launched on OTT within a window of three to four weeks. There hasn’t been any confirmation on the Hindi version of the movie, though. The news was posted on X by the producing company Studio Green. The production company shared the movie’s poster, writing, “A search for justice and gold buried deep in the pages of history.” Watch the spectacular Thangalaan on Netflix right now.
A Thiruvallur resident had already filed a PIL in the Madras High Court, asking for a stop on the movie’s OTT release. The petition alleged that while Vaishnavism was playfully portrayed in the movie, Buddhism was reverently portrayed in other scenes. This could exacerbate tensions between religious communities, the petitioner contended. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had previously certified the movie, so the court rejected the request.
About Thangalaan :
Alongside Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, Pasupathy, and Hari Krishnan, Vikram plays five parts in the action adventure film, which was directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green and Neelam Productions. The movie received a mixed reception when it first came out, which also affected its performance at the box office. Despite having a ₹100 crore budget, the movie only made ₹68 crore at the box office globally.
“Pa Ranjith had immense faith in me, which made this film possible,” Vikram stated when he announced the sequel to the movie, despite its poor box office result. We all think Thangalaan should have a follow-up, and we intend to create a lot more. You all really enjoyed it. Meeting people in the Telugu states who tell me they’ve seen all of my films, including those that were made available on OTT, was very satisfying.
