Distribution :
In February 2020, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Trivikram Srinivas were set to collaborate on a film tentatively titled NTR30, following their earlier success with Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018). This project was to be produced by S. Radha Krishna and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under Haarika & Hassine Creations and N. T. R. Arts. However, plans changed when Koratala Siva announced another project with Allu Arjun, which ultimately did not materialize.
In April 2021, it was confirmed that N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Siva would team up for NTR30, marking their second collaboration after Janatha Garage (2016). The film was officially announced on Ugadi (April 13, 2021), with production initially set for early 2022. Delays occurred due to Siva’s commitments to Acharya and Rama Rao’s involvement in RRR.
Following Acharya’s box office failure, Siva reworked the script to enhance its commercial appeal. By March 2023, the film was officially launched with a puja ceremony in Hyderabad. The title Devara was announced on May 19, 2023, and on October 4, Siva revealed that the film would be split into two parts.
